Any strong love stories by Nathaniel Hawthorne, D.H. Lawrence, or Anton Chekhov?

I am writing a paper, and I need an example of a love story written by either Nathaniel Hawthorne, D.H. Lawrence, Anton Chekhov, or any renowned writer you can think of. A good example would be Lady with the dog by Anton Chekhov, but that is excluded in cl. I would appreciate any recommendations, thanks!
