Why do some people think that the apostle Paul taught a contrary gospel than the one that Jesus taught?

I don't see that. Paul wrote most of the New Testament. God wouldn't have put his letters in the bible if he wasn't teaching what God wanted him to. I think he was a shining example of what a Christian should be while he was alive and in his death since he was martyred.
