Where can i donate my blankets?

i have 5 blankets that i bought from a reminant sale a few years ago because they are nice, heavy blankets but were only missing the borders (i figured i'd get around to it someday...) anyhow, i would like to donate them as they can still be used for warmth but i am against bringing them to goodwill for 2 reasons - 1 is they may look at the blankets and since they are unfinished, just toss them thinking the are not suitable. 2 i believe goodwill takes the charitable good but sells them to the public and uses the revenue to contribute to those in need. i may be mistake but either way, if they can make someone warm this winter i would rather them go to good use. any suggestions?
