Can you get a speeding ticket is someone reports you speeding?

I was speeding at a park and a janitor blocked me with his gold cart and called the cops. he gave them my liscence plate number and car type. I left right after before cops came. Is there a possibility i might get a ticket mailed home? Is it legal for them to do that? cause they have to photographic proof of my speeding. Which i really wasn't. maybe 5 over the speed limit. going 20
